Kitara FC beat Gaddafi FC 2-0 and dumped them out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

George Senkaaba and Denis Omedi netted for the Royals on Saturday at the Masindi stadium.

The victory meant Kitara progresses to the last 16 round of the Uganda Cup and will know their next opponent after the draws are held.

The Royals head coach Brian Ssenyondo assessed the display from his charges and was delighted to make it to the next stage of the competition.

“Our performance throughout the game was good. We played well from the start to the final whistle,” he commented after full time.

” We dominated play for many spells of the game, pressed well and created many chances that I feel should have changed the score line had we been clinical enough but we are happy we got the two goals considering this is a knockout challenge.”

Senkaaba has so far scored two goals in the Uganda. He netted against Nebbi Central FC last month and against the Soldier boys.

Kitara have now beaten Gaddafi twice this season, the Royals won 1-2 away at the Jinja Arena in the first round fixture of the StarTimes Uganda premier. The army side will return to Masindi to face Kitara in the league closing game later on May.

The Royals will now shift focus on KCCA FC whom they will visit next Friday, February 23 at the Lugogo stadium.
