Busoga Utd vs Kitara FC

Njeru

Kitara will be looking to improve their performance away from home when they face Busoga United in an interesting match day 14 fixture of the StarTimes Uganda premier league on Tuesday evening at the FUFA Technical center in Njeru.

The Royals away form has not been the best with their last victory coming against Wakiso Giants over two months ago at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, and the gaffer knows results must get better, starting at Njeru.

Since the win at Wakiso, his side has suffered two away defeats, drawn twice picking only two of the possible 12 points in the process.

In their previous game against Arua Hill at the Masindi stadium Brian Ssenyondo was not impressed with the players’ display despite winning 7-1.

Ssenyondo who looked relaxed during the pre match interview is confident his team will show greater verve than they have on their previous match.

” We didn’t play very well in our previous game but the most important thing is we earned three points  but I hope the boys put this into consideration and challenge themselves in the next game,” said Ssenyondo in a pre match interview.

He added, “We play a tough team in Busoga United, they have shown us over the seasons that they can pick points where you dont expect them. They have beaten big names here, against BUL they put up a spirited performance and they will want to do the same against us.

“They are a tough side but we hope to put up our best because to be a success you must beat such tough challenges and we hope we can pick maximum points here.”

Busoga have not won a game in a while; their last victory here came against KCCA on November 24 thus the fans will be eager to see their team win.

Meanwhile, the title race is getting tighter and slowly taking shape as we move into the half of the season. Only one or two points separate Kitara from the chasing pack in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Maroons, Vipers, SC Villa and NEC are all heavily breathing behind the Royals neck thus any slip up in today’s game could see Ssenyondo’s side displaced from their current second position on the table.

Team news:

Jamil Kiyimba is nursing a knee injury and will miss this game leaving Chris Kusiima and Farouk Yawe as the available goal minders.

Najib Yiga is also not available while the rest of the squad is ready for duty.
