Result: Kitara 1-0 URA

Royals Park Stadium

Kitara secured a 1-0 victory against URA football club at the Royals Park Stadium in Butema thanks to Frank Zaga Tumwesigye’s goal.

The Royals came into this game in fifth position with 25 points but managed to pick all three important points to leap frog the tax collectors in 4th place on the log.

Frank Zaga had two chances in the first half before his breakthrough arrived after 37 minutes following good play from Jude Ssemugabi.

George Masembe came close for the visitors in the opening half when his effort from a set piece flew inches past Chrispas Kusiima’s goal post.

Kabon Living’s floated delivery in the goal mouth should have led to a Kitara goal after he found the head of Ssemugabi in space, but the forward’s effort lack enough power to go past URA goal keeper Rogers Omedwa.

Ten minutes into the second half, Zaga was presented with another opportunity just outside the box which he volleyed but the ball flew slightly over the cross bar.

The victory was Kitara’s seventh and stretches their unbeaten run to ten straight games in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

They have only failed to score thrice in their stalemates with Vipers, Wakiso Giants and UPDF FC in Kitende, Hamz Stadium and Bombo respectively.

Kitara’s next fixture is a tricky one away third placed BUL FC next Friday, 7th March.
