UPL Result:
Kitara FC 4-0 UPDF FC
Royals Park - Butema

Kitara returned to winning ways with a 4-0 victory over UPDF FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

They went in front just fourteen minutes into the game when Fred Amaku sent the visitors’ goal keeper Richard Anyama in the wrong direction from the spot. The goal was Amaku’s first since joining the Royals from Maroons FC in July.

Kabon Living had a shot blocked before Senkaaba George had a brilliant opportunity, but Anyama made a solid save to deny Amaku Fred what would have been his second goal.

Although Samuel Ssekamatte nearly pulled one back for UPDF when his shot went slightly wide, the hosts were the next to strike when Kabon’s hit the ball well putting it in the top right corner of the net in the 23rd minute.

Kabon further stretched our lead two minutes to half time with a fine finish taking his goal tally to three in this campaign thus far.

Kitara had some good opportunities after the break, including a two efforts from Patrick Kaddu and Denis Omedi that flashed wide.

George Senkaaba got Kitara’s fourth goal from a counter attack on the left flank after dribbling past UPDF defender, Bernard Muwanga and custodian Anyama and put the ball in an empty net.

The win was a morale boosting one and the first for Wasswa Bbosa’s side who had not won a game since match day one.

It’s elevated them to two places from the bottom of the table to 14th position on seven points.

The Royals’ upcoming fixture will be a night encounter away at the St Mary’s Stadium against leaders Vipers SC next Friday.
