Match Day 17 Result
Kitara FC 2-0 Bright Stars FC
Royals Park - Butema
Kitara continued their fine form at the Royals Park stadium, Butema with a 2-0 victory over Bright Stars FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Monday encounter which concluded match day 17 saw Kabon Living open the score for the Royals with a tap in off Frank Zaga Tumwesigye’s corner kick after 22 minutes.
Bright Stars custodian Shamulan Kamya fumbled with the ball gifting it to an unmarked Kabon who struck it into the net.
Before the break, the score would have been otherwise had Jude Ssemugabi and George Senkaaba been clinical enough. Senkaaba headed Kabon’s cross over and wide before Ssemugabi’s effort fell directly in Kamya’s gloves.
Marvin Nyanzi and debutant Amos Etoju came on in the second stanza replacing Titus Ssematimba and Frank Tumwesigye respectively as Wasswa Bbosa sought fresh legs in the midfield.
Moments later, Patrick Kaddu and John Byaruhanga were introduced increasing intensity and pressure forward for Kitara with less than 15 minutes to play.
The duo’s relentless pressure on the visitors defence resulted into an error which Byaruhanga utilized to provide Kaddu who volleyed in our second goal.
Wasswa Bbosa’s side registered their eighth straight clean sheet and moved 5th on the table with 25 points while Bright Stars remain in 15th place with 11 points.
Kitara’s next match will be away at Kakungulu Memorial in Kibuli against CATDA FC in the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Thursday.
