Kitara football club will return to Uganda premier league action from the international break with a home fixture against KCCA at the Masindi stadium on Friday, 20 October, 2023.

The Royals started their campaign  winning all three matches; they handed SC Villa defeat, which was followed by victories over UPDF and Gaddafi FC.

However, Kitara head coach Brian Ssenyondo has warned his charges against getting carried away by their form as there is still a long way to go in the season.

He said: ” We are not going to get excited at this moment of the season because there is a lot to improve, three games don’t make us champions. We are work in progress and the players know that this is not the time to relax but rather to remain calm and focused. It’s a process that needs patience.

“We have 26 games to go and they must understand that remaining humble and teamwork is what is important. There are so much expectations from the team but my players know our long term objective and we shall handle a game at a time.”

The hosts have not beaten the Kasasiro boys before but recent success will inspire plenty of confidence ahead of Friday’s encounter.

KCCA head into to this match coming from a 1-2 loss to Express FC, Ssenyondo predicts a tricky match for his side as his opponents would want to return to winning ways.

He added, ” It is a really big game. The difference between us and them is nine points, but the reality is both teams have top quality and ambitions.
