The midfielder speaks to our website in an exclusive interview about the factors which influenced his switch to the Hoima based club

Kitara unveiled two players on Saturday morning as they beef up their squad ahead of the second round of the StarTimes Uganda premier league and Bukenya is one of the notable arrivals at the club.

As he embarks on a new chapter in his career at Kitara, Bukenya has told the club website, the reasons why he agreed to join the Royals ahead of the other teams that also wanted his signature.

“I have been to Hoima before and we (Wakiso Giants FC) played and lost to Kitara in two pre season friendly matches. They are an ambitious team and love their fighting spirit on the pitch and I can wait to play for them,” Bukenya Lawrence told our media team.

“Their fans are so passionate, they like me as a player and enjoyed how I played against their team in those friendly games, it’s amazing that I’m going to be playing  before these vibrant fans in the league.

“The other reason why I chose Kitara is the head coach, Brian Ssenyondo and the club president, Mr. Deo Kasozi. Both like me and also talked to me about their ambitions at the club which were realistic and good. They actually wanted me to come at the start of the season but it did not happen then and look, here came the chance again which I could not really turn down.
There are also a couple of players I’ve played with before, I’m eager for this reunion.”

Fully aware, he is in a competitive team where the battle for shirts will be intense, Bukenya believes he is up to the task and would always do his best to help his chances of getting to feature for the Royals.
