Uganda Cup Fixture:
Round of 64:
30 -Jan- 2024
Nebbi Central FC vs Kitara FC
4pm
Luo stadium

Kitara embarks on their Uganda Cup campaign will a trip away at the Luo stadium where they will lock horns with Nebbi Central FC on Tuesday evening.

The Royals who will be aiming to progress to the next round of 32 must overcome their opponents who will not be push overs. The hosts are currently 4th on the West Nile, Nyagak zone standings with 16 points.

Issa Serwanja, the second assistant coach has emphasized the importance of this fixture and expects a tough encounter in Nebbi.

” This will not be an easy game because we know already that some top flight teams have been eliminated from this competition therefore we must tackle it with extra caution and make sure we qualify to the next stage,” Serwanja stressed during the pre match interview.

He added, “We have prepared ourselves so well, the players know the task at hand and won’t take our opponents lightly because they are home and will want to put up a fight but we are set for this test. We hope to do our best make sure we go further.”

This will be the second meeting between these two teams having initially played against each other in a friendly match at Kigaaya in 2022.
Derrick Byabachwezi and Clinton Kamugisha scored for the Royals who won 2-0.

However a lot has since changed and Kitara is aware that trips to West Nile have not been so fruitful thus must improve that record this time round.

They lost two of their three visits there; Calvary FC beat Kitara at Midigo play grounds twice last season. The former eliminated the Royals in the round of 16 of the Uganda in a 8-7 penalty shoot out.

The winner between Nebbi Central FC and Kitara will progress to the Uganda Cup round of 32 while the eventual champion of this trophy represents the country in the CAF Confederations cup next season.
