Stanbic Uganda Cup: Round of 64:
Nebbi Central FC 1-2 Kitara FC

Kitara beat Nebbi Central FC 1-2 away at the Luo stadium in Nebbi to book a spot in the round of 32 of the Uganda Cup.

The tie was closely contested with the hosts creating a couple of goal scoring opportunities in opening stages of the game but were penalized for their profligacy in the 39th minute when Kabon Living struck a superb free kick to give Kitara the lead.

George Senkaaba doubled the lead with fifteen minutes to play through a half volley which was assisted by Denis Omedi.

Nebbi Central pulled one back in the 89th and intensified the pressure but failed to break the Royals resolve.

In his post match reaction, Kitara head coach Brian Ssenyondo was happy his side advanced to the next round but rued their extravagance in the goal mouth.

” We created more chances than our opponents but failed to use some of them which is dangerous especially in such knock out competitions. If we had put to use such moments then the scoreline would have been different nonetheless, we’re  happy for the win and hope to build on that.”

Kitara will face a yet to be known opponent next month after the draws of the round of 32 have been held.
