SUPL: Match day 28
10th May 2025
Kitara 🆚 Maroons
Royals Park Stadium
4PM
Following a series of poor results, Kitara will again be bidding to get back to winning ways when they host Maroons FC at the Royals Park this evening in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The Royals renowned for their free scoring strike force, hitting a dry spell in front of goal certainly raises concern among their fans.
On April 5th 2025 is when they last won a game beating KCCA 4-0 since then, Kitara has gone seven matches without scoring, with their current goalless run at the Royals Park standing at over 185 minutes.
Kitara have not gone three consecutive home league games without scoring in their history and will attempt to avoid an unwanted record against Maroons this evening.
Kabon Living netted the team’s last goal, it came in the 12th minute against NEC, a match we went on to lose 2-1 last month at the Omondi stadium in Lugogo.
Speaking to the club media, Wasswa Bbosa said, “We have not been clinical in front of goal despite getting the chances. We’ve found ourselves in these goal scoring areas but failed to make use of them and we have been punished many times. However, we have no excuse against Maroons. We have worked well on how we defend and attack and we expect better from the team.”
The reverse fixture played in Luzira ended 0-4 in our favor and completing a double over the prison warders later today will be key.
Team news:
Kabon Living resumed training with the rest of the team but this fixture comes quite early for him as he still lacks match fitness. The forward is expected to be available for the next Wednesday’s game.
Jude Ssemugabi and John Byaruhanga are the other absentees while the rest of the squad is ready for duty.
