UPL Fixture:
22 -Nov- 2024
Kitara FC 🆚 UPDF FC
4pm
Royals Park- Butema
Kitara will be bidding to end their six game losing run at the expense of UPDF football club this evening when the two sides meet at the Royals Park in Butema.
Prior to the international break, Kitara suffered back to back defeats on the road to URA and Bright Stars leaving the Royals at the base of the 16 team log with 4 points from eight games.
Their fans have already witnessed the team lose 3 matches at home to Police, NEC and BUL FC therefore playing UPDF means Wasswa Bbosa’s side must give a positive response.
UPDF’s last away game ended in a 5-0 humiliation at the hands of SC Villa in Wankulukuku but they returned to winning ways beating Mbarara City 2-1 shortly before the break, morale in the camp should be high.
The win allowed them to close the gap on the top six, but with just three or four points separating them from the bottom half in a very congested league table, maintaining consistency will be key.
Kitara proved a favourable opponent for UPDF last season beating them home and away. The Royals edged them 1-0 in Masindi before Denis Omedi netted a hatrick in the reverse fixture in Bombo.
Victory for the home team will temporarily ease the pressure as they prepare for a tricky visit away to Kitende next Friday.
Team news
The hosts will be without the suspended Ronald Otti, after he amassed three yellow cards, and the defender will watch on from the sidelines alongside the injured Ivan Sserubiri, Maxwell Owachigiu and Moses Sseruyidde
