Maroons vs Kitara

Kitara FC visit Maroons as the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match day 20 action kicks off on Friday, international women’s day evening.

The Royals come into this contest as table leaders with 39 points and face a Maroons side they lost to 0-1 last November at the Masindi stadium.

A second round upsurge has seen Kitara climb on the summit of the table, one point above second placed BUL while Vipers trail by seven but have played two games less.

The prison warders, meanwhile, have been inconsistent since the resumption of the second round. They have drawn with BUL and Wakiso Giants and lost to SC Villa and URA FC in the process. They are sixth with 30 points.

Form may not be considered here thus this is a contest that could go either way. Ssenfuma’s side have enjoyed a few extra days of rest while their opponents were involved in the Uganda Cup last 16 knock out game earlier this week against SC Villa.

The visitors will be hoping to consolidate their lead on the log but will face a stern test from the home side that welcomes back the trio of Abel Eturude, Ronald Orombi and Deogratius Ojok to the squad.

Victory for Kitara will see them consolidate their position at the top but further  frustrate the home side.

Team news:

The return of Jude Ssemugabi to the visitors’ attacking line is a huge boost, and a reshuffle in the squad should aid the Royals’ ability to contain a Maroons outfit that, while still dangerous, are very predictable.
