SUPL Match day 21:
27 -March- 2025
Police vs Kitara
4pm
Kavumba grounds
Kitara visit Police FC on Thursday at the Kavumba recreation ground seeking a return to winning ways in the Uganda Premier League.
Wasswa Bbosa’s side come into this match after failing to pick maximum points from their two previous games; they lost 1-0 to BUL at Hamz Stadium and also drew one all with Mbarara City in the Western derby at home in Butema.
They have subsequently dropped from fourth to sixth place on the table standings with KCCA and URA overtaking them.
The reverse fixture played at the Royals Park stadium in Butema in October 2024 ended 1-0 in favor of Police FC thanks to Augustine Kacancu’s 28th minute strike.
Avenging their defeat will be the mission for Wasswa Bbosa and the Royals when they face Police tomorrow.
” We lost to them at home in the first leg but quite a number of things have gotten better for us since then. We are targeting to pick maximum points and we shall be going all out at Kavumba,” said the gaffer.
Meanwhile, Kitara’s visit comes at time when the Cops are somehow motivated having won their last two matches. They beat Express 2-1 in the league and a 1-0 triumph over Maroons FC in the Uganda Cup.
Police’s last home game saw them lose 0-1 to Vipers SC but they will be hoping to complete a double over the Royals.
Meanwhile, victory for Kitara will be a morale boasting result ahead of their next home game against KCCA.
Team news:
Amos Etoju accumulated his third yellow card during our draw with Mbarara City rendering him absent due to suspension.
Benjamin Nyakoojo is nursing an injury he picked from our Uganda Cup encounter against Gaddafi therefore he is ruled out of this tie.
However, team skipper Maxwell Owachigiu, Dudu Ramadhan, Arthur Kiggundu and David Kasaija are available to play in the center back role.
Rogers Mugisha and Marvin Nyanzi are the other absentees through injury while the rest of the squad is available and set for duty.
