UPL Match day 7:
01 -Nov- 2024
URA FC vs KITARA FC
7pm
Hamz stadium- Nakivubo
Kitara will be involved in an intense battle to return to winning ways in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League when they take on URA FC at the Hamz Stadium - Nakivubo on Friday night.
The fixture is the first for Wasswa Bbosa in charge of Kitara FC following the exit of Brian Ssenyondo who had been at the helm for sixteen months. Ssenyondo was relieved of his duties as result of bad performance this season.
Bbosa knows he has to lead the Royals back to winning ways if he’s to keep the team within it’s target while his counterpart Alex Isabirye is also under pressure to deliver the team’s first victory at home.
Kitara come into this fixture off a very bad run; they have only managed one win and a draw in their last six games and find themselves in the relegation zone with just 4 points.
They last won a league game in September away at Lugazi Stadium when they defeated Lugazi FC 0-3 in the opening league game. They also drew one all with the Ankole Lions last week away in Mbarara.
On the other hand URA are yet to win at home they drew with Mbarara City before losing 1-0 to BUL last month.
This will be the 4th meeting between these two sides. The tax collectors won the first encounter 2-3 at Kavumba recreation center during the 2020/21 season.
Kitara’s goals were scored by Robert Kyamanywa and Denis Monday but Steven Mukwala, Brian Majwega and Shafik Kagimu all netted to give the tax collectors victory.
The Royals drew 2-2 last season at the Metha Stadium in Lugazi and triumphed 0-3 in the reverse fixture in Masindi.
Kitara last 4 games:
KCCA 2-0 Kitara
Kitara 0-1 Police
Mbarara City 1-1 Kitara
Kitara 1-3 BUL
URA last 4 games:
URA 1-1 Mbarara City
Mbale Heroes 0-4 URA
URA 0-1 BUL

Team news:
Match fitness rules Benjamin Nyakoojo out of this fixture and misses a chance to face his former side. However, the towering center back is expected to be in shape for the upcoming games.
The rest of the squad is available for Wasswa Bbosa to make his selection for duty tonight.
