URA vs KITARA FC
4pm
Metha stadium, Lugazi

Kitara travel to Lugazi at the Metha stadium where they will be involved in an intense battle to return to winning ways when they take on URA in the Uganda premier league on Friday evening.

Brian Ssenyondo’s team made an encouraging beginning to the league winning five in a row until Maroons halted their fine run on match day six beating them 0-1 through Fred Amaku’s solitary goal.

On the other hand, URA  come into this game on the back of a 1-0 fall to BUL at the Njeru Technical center which marked their first defeat.

However, the gaffer believes an excellent Kitara performance will be required to overcome the tax collectors at their own yard.

” We must account for ourselves very well on Friday. There must be a real fight on the pitch, we want to see the lads’ determination and willingness to get good results from the game.

We are sure our opponents will also come ready to win but we are prepared for the challenge,” Ssenyondo warned.

URA FC earlier this week unveiled David Obua as their new head coach who will be keen on having a good start.

He finds the tax collectors with 9 points from six matches; they have two wins, three draws and one loss.

They are six points and are four places adrift Kitara on the league table standings.

The last meeting between these two sides ended 2-3 in favor of URA at Kavumba recreation center. The Royals goals were scored by Robert Kyamanywa and Denis Monday while Steven Mukwala, Brian Majwega and Shafik Kagimu all netted  for the tax collectors.

URA is so far unbeaten at their yard since returning to the Metha stadium; they have beaten Gaddafi and Wakiso Giants,  2-0 and 1-0 respectively.

The hosts have a decent record at home where they are yet to concede any goal though,  facing a Kitara side that has averaged two goals in every away fixture  will be another daunting challenge for the likes of Hudu Mulikyi and company.

The Royals’  backline has leaked in at least a goal in every match thus will be under pressure to get their first a clean sheet on the road.

Team news:

Benjamin Nyakoojo misses a chance to face his former team after picking up an injury last week. The center back is ruled out and will not feature in Kitara’s  remaining first round fixtures.

George Senkaaba and Kabon Living are the other players who have formerly played for URA.  The duo has scored a goal apiece away this term and this fixture presents a great opportunity for them to avenge.

This fixture comes quite early for Solomon Okwalinga who is still nursing a hamstring injury. The midfielder may be available for the trip to Njeru later this month.
